Choosing a private high school can be a difficult task for parents and students alike. The best thing to keep in mind is what type of environment the student thrives in. Depending on personality, students may do well in a variety of environments.
A reserved student may do best in a school with a small student body and close student to faculty ratio. An environment like this affords the student the attention that they deserve without added social pressures or a struggle to be heard.
A more outgoing student may do better in a large school with a variety of classes and extracurricular activities to keep their attention on new things and to continually keep them interacting with new students.
Of course, each school has its own culture, and it is important that a prospective student visit the school to get a feel for that before committing to attend.
